This series is an exploration of my cultural oral traditions based on the legends of the X’tabai. The X’tabai is part of the Abya Yala or Mesoamerican mythological canon that tells the story of a Maya goddess that haunts the woods and lures men to their death through her beauty and song. In this series I aim to explore the narrative of the X’tabai and portray her as the Maya goddess that roams the earth and is connected to nature.
